As a Virtualisation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of optimising virtual environments, providing a dynamic and challenging work environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of virtualisation solutions, from design and deployment to ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of virtual environments. You will collaborate closely with system architects and other IT teams, integrating virtualisation solutions seamlessly into the broader IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties as the Virtualisation Engineer will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Design and deploy virtualisation solutions, including VMware, Hyper-V, and other leading platforms.
- Implement and manage virtual machines (VMs), storage, and networks within the virtual environment.
- Monitor and manage the performance, availability, and security of virtual environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to virtualisation infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce security best practices within virtual environments.
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline the management of virtual environments.
- Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and backup solutions for virtual environments.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in virtualisation engineering.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or other enterprise-grade virtualisation platforms.
- Strong understanding of virtualisation concepts, including hypervisors, VM management, storage virtualisation, and network virtualisation.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
