Lead Design Engineer

Mentoring a small team of Junior Designers will be part of this role

Are you a skilled and experienced Design Engineer looking for a new challenge? We are currently seeking a proactive and technically proficient individual to join a small technical department. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in the design and development of world-class products, contributing to the success of the company.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead new development projects, providing technical support to production and sales departments, and liaising with component suppliers. You will also be involved in product testing and the building and testing of prototypes from concept to pre-production stage. In addition, you will be responsible for the production and control of BOMs, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.

To be successful in this role, you must have a formal design education to degree standard and a minimum of three to five years experience in a design/engineering role. Advanced skills in 3D CAD (NX preferable) and advanced surface modelling experience are essential, as well as experience in creating exterior conceptual designs, designing tools and parts for composite manufacture, and managing design projects in multi-disciplinary teams.
